In Beaufort and Sipitang, not rely on Ministry reports on Pan Borneo Highway project. NGO wants PM to personally visit sites
The ‘abandoned’ flyover project.
BEAUFORT: Rumpun Etnik Sabah (Presbah) President Yahya Ahmad has called on the Prime Minister to personally visit two Pan Borneo Highway project sites in Beaufort and Sipitang, saying a first-hand look would carry more weight than relying solely on ministerial reports.

He made the appeal while pointing out the slow progress of Pan Borneo Package 1 and Package 2 Phase 1, which covers the Limbawang bypass alignment, a stretch crossing the Luagan Beaufort area and the Beaufort Bridge 3 package, sites he noted are rarely visited by successive Works Ministers when they travelled to Sabah.

“It is not meaningful for the Prime Minister, who is also Finance Minister, to announce allocations alone if this project continues to fail in meeting its completion timeline,” Yahya said, adding that the Prime Minister should see for himself the sluggish, slow-changing project.

“The people look at it every day with frustration,” he said.
