NABAWAN: Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail paid a courtesy call to the Nabawan District Office in conjunction with the Community Policing Programme held from May 23 to 24.
The Inspector-General, who was accompanied by Sabah Police Commissioner Jauteh Dikun, was welcomed by Nabawan District Officer Ts Marshal Anthony @ Idham and staff of the Nabawan District Office.
Also present to receive the delegation was Nabawan assemblyman Abdul Ghani Mohd Yassin.
The courtesy visit was closely linked to the Community Policing Programme, which aims to strengthen ties between the Royal Malaysia Police and the local community.
The programme focused on enhancing community cooperation in matters related to security, crime prevention and fostering closer relations between residents and the authorities.
During the visit, Mohd Khalid also had the opportunity to meet community leaders and local residents to hear their views and concerns regarding security issues in the Nabawan district.
Meanwhile, Ghani welcomed the implementation of the Community Policing Programme and expressed hope that close cooperation between the police and the community would continue to be strengthened for the well-being of residents in the interior areas.
On the same day, the Inspector-General also visited the construction site of the Nabawan District Police Headquarters and met with traditional chiefs and community leaders in the district.
