Threads to vent her frustration over the soaring cost of domestic flight tickets to Sabah and Sarawak during festive seasons.
In her post, Alvy called out airlines and airport authorities over high airfares, saying tickets to Borneo can cost as much as RM3,000 during peak periods.
She joked that with RM1,000, she could travel overseas instead of flying back to her hometown.
Alvy also shared that her mother had jokingly suggested she go on holiday abroad during the festive season because international flights are sometimes cheaper than domestic travel.
Many users in the comments section echoed her frustrations, sharing their own experiences with expensive flights home.
One commenter said they spent around RM700 for a one-way ticket to Kuching, adding that the price was comparable to travelling to Thailand, South Korea, or Japan.
Others compared ticket prices to Sabah and Sarawak with flights to Perth, saying the costs were almost the same.
