SEMPORNA: A local man and an IMM13 pass holder were arrested for suspected misappropriation of subsidised diesel, here, on Thursday.
The duo were detained in an operation by the Kunak 22nd Battalion General Operations Force and handed over to the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) Semporna for further action.

Their modus operandi was to use gallons as storage placed in the rear of a four-wheel-drive (4WD) to fill in diesel at several fuel stations in the district.
“An inspection of the Isuzu Dmax found a total of 22 gallons containing 550 litres of diesel.
“The gallons containing diesel along with the 4WD were confiscated for further investigation,” said KPDN Semporna, adding that the confiscated items were worth RM21,279.25.
A probe paper has been opened under the Control of Supply Act 1961 (Act 122) to further investigate and track down other individuals or companies involved in the activity.
KPDN Semporna sternly warned individuals or companies to always comply with the rules and regulations to avoid legal action.
The Ministry will intensify monitoring and enforcement to ensure no parties take advantage of misappropriating subsidised items that should be enjoyed by the people.
