SEMPORNA: A total of 150 litres of diesel and 425kg of cooking oil in packets were seized in an integrated operation under Ops Tiris 4.0, here, on Wednesday.

The seizures, worth more than RM52,000, were made by Kunak Battalion 22 General Operations Force and Semporna marine police before being handed over to the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Semporna.

In the first case, a local was detained after he was found in possession of diesel without permission. 

Six jerry cans containing 150 litres of diesel and a four-wheel-drive vehicle were seized. 

In the second case, 425 packets of cooking oil, a pump boat with its engine and a shaft propeller, worth an estimated RM2,165.50, were seized by marine police.

KPDN Semporna, in a statement, said both cases were investigated under the Control of Supply Act 1961.
