RANAU: The Chocolate Exhibition and Sales organised by the Malaysian Cocoa Board (LKM) Ranau Unit garnered much attention from the public during the Farmers, Breeders and Peasants Day programme in conjunction with the district-level Tadau Kaamatan celebration recently.

LKM Ranau described the programme as a meaningful platform to showcase the achievements and potential of the local cocoa industry, while strengthening ties between government agencies and the community.

The event, which featured exhibitions and sales of local products, also attracted the attention of a Sabah State leadership delegation led by Deputy Chief Minister II and State Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.

Masidi’s visit was among the highlights of the programme and served as encouragement for participants and organisers in their efforts to further develop the State’s agricultural sector and cocoa industry.

Cosmobeauté Malaysia and beautyexpo will expand into East Malaysia with the launch of the Cosmobeauté Malaysia Borneo Festival 2026 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) from May 25 to 26.
LKM Ranau also expressed appreciation to members of the public who visited the exhibition booth, saying the support and positive response were significant in promoting awareness of the cocoa industry and locally produced high-quality products.

Visitors also took part in competitions organised throughout the programme, with many walking away as winners. LKM Ranau said the enthusiasm shown by the community reflected a growing culture of creativity, participation and healthy competition.

The unit hopes similar programmes will continue to serve as platforms to unite communities, strengthen the agricultural sector and elevate the local cocoa industry to greater heights.

Ranau is increasingly gaining recognition for its premium artisanal chocolate, supported by its cool highland climate that produces quality cocoa beans.

The area is emerging as a regional cocoa hub, with bean-to-bar products such as those from Cocoa Nabalu featuring unique local flavours including chilli and curry.

The development of the Ranau Highland Cocoa Cluster (RHCC) in Kg Napong is also boosting local processing of premium cocoa beans. Locally made chocolate products are available at several outlets, including Sabah Tea Resort.

For visitors, enjoying locally made Ranau chocolate while taking in the cool breeze at the foothills of Mount Kinabalu has become a recommended experience.
