RANAU: Paginatan Assemblyman Datuk Rusdin Riman said RM30,000 has been allocated from his con-stituency development fund to repair the water catchment area in Kampung Rumantai that was damaged by Pan Borneo Highway construction works.
He said he was aware of the situation and action had been taken to resolve the matter.
“They (the community in Kampung Rumantai) have made an application and we have approved an allocation for the construction of a new water catchment, and hopefully it could be completed soon.
“For the meantime, we are asking the villagers, especially those affected, to be patient in waiting for the problem to be resolved. Hopefully, once it is completed, the clean water problem in Kampung Rumantai will cease to exist,” he told Daily Express, Saturday.
