Filipino smuggling at KKIA: Woman claims trial
The offence is framed under Section 26A of the relevant Act, which carries a penalty of up to 20 years’ jail, a fine, or both upon conviction.
Kota Kinabalu: A 53-year-old woman claimed trial at the High Court, here, Wednesday to smuggling an undocumented Filipino migrant at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA).

Nihmah Hashim, who appeared before Judicial Commissioner Dayang Ellyn Narisa Abang Ahmad, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

She was accused of jointly smuggling an undocumented Filipino migrant with two others who are still at large on Oct 31, 2025, at 5.30am at KKIA. 

The offence is framed under Section 26A of the relevant Act, which carries a penalty of up to 20 years’ jail, a fine, or both upon conviction.
