MATUNGGONG: Sabahans must continue to value and protect the harmony and unity they enjoy, said Sabah Minister of Women, Health and People’s Wellbeing Datuk Julita Majungki.
“In Sabah, we usually see people as people, as brothers and sisters, not by their race. That is our strength and it is something we must protect,” she said at the Matunggong Kaamatan Festival on Sunday.
She warned unity should not be taken for granted, noting that peace and harmony are key to stability and future development.
“If our society remains united and lives in harmony, the state will also remain politically stable.
“When stability is maintained, the government can focus on development and the needs of the people,” she added.
Julita said Kaamatan reflects Sabah’s multicultural harmony, describing it as “not only a cultural celebration, but also a symbol of unity.”
