Kota Kinabalu: Online bullying affects everyone, including politicians, but protecting children must come first, said Kota Kinabalu Member of Parliament, Datuk Chan Foong Hin.

“Those in public office often bear the brunt of online hostility. Politicians may also have a tougher mental situation to encounter,” said the Deputy Agriculture and Food Security Minister.

“But the ultimate message we want to drive home is about safeguarding our young against bullying,” he said when officiating at the “I Am Not Silent: Be a Buddy, not a Bully” Video Competition Award Ceremony organised by the Lions Club of Luyang A.C.E. here, Sunday.

The competition was held in collaboration with Hospital Mesra Bukit Padang and the MCMC Kota Kinabalu Branch Office.
