KOTA KINABALU: The State Government is prioritizing the expansion of industrial infrastructure and the empowerment of entrepreneurs to drive sustainable economic growth across Sabah.
During his policy speech at the opening of the 17th State Legislative Assembly on Thursday, Head of State Tun Musa Aman announced plans to enhance existing industrial parks and develop new ones in rural regions to ensure more balanced economic development and localized investment benefits.
To streamline growth, the State Entrepreneurship Development Programme has been centralized under the Ministry of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transportation.
This integrated approach aims to provide systematic training, governance, and marketing support for local business owners.
Tun Musa also highlighted a strategic focus on the manufacturing sector, aiming to bolster the commercialization of Sabah-made products.
By increasing the competitiveness of local goods, the government intends to help Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) penetrate international export markets, further solidifying the state’s position as a robust industrial and entrepreneurial hub.
