KOTA KINABALU: Sabah is poised for a significant developmental surge following the announcement of the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) for 2026-2030, which allocates a record RM12.024 billion for state projects.

Opening the first term of the 17th State Legislative Assembly on Thursday, Head of State Tun Musa Aman revealed that this allocation represents a massive 141.62 per cent increase compared to the previous 12MP ceiling, reflecting a determined effort to accelerate regional growth.

The comprehensive plan identifies 10 priority areas as the primary engines for development over the next five years.

A total of 1,173 projects have been slated for implementation, consisting of 933 new initiatives and 240 extension projects.

Tun Musa Aman emphasized that this strategic approach is designed to deliver high-impact results across all sectors, ensuring that economic benefits and improved well-being reach citizens throughout the state.

He underscored that effective execution remains crucial to transforming this substantial financial commitment into sustainable and inclusive progress for Sabah.
