SANDAKAN: Concern has been raised over the post-fire conditions in Kampung Bahagia here, which are feared to pose serious health risks to victims.

Warisan President Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal said the poor environment could lead to the spread of diseases such as skin infections, malaria and tuberculosis if not addressed immediately.

He said the Health Ministry should help monitor the situation and provide immediate assistance, including medical support and vaccination programmes to prevent any outbreak.

Shafie said that, besides food aid, there was an urgent need for a more organised and comprehensive support system to safeguard the safety, hygiene and wellbeing of the victims.
