Viral rider to repay mechanic after free roadside repair
KUALA LUMPUR: A motorcyclist known as Qiu, 31, says he will return to pay a mechanic who fixed his bike for free after a roadside breakdown in Kuala Lumpur.

Qiu, also known as Dicky, said he plans to settle the full repair cost next week so the mechanic can “continue to help more people in need,” adding that their shared goal is to spread positivity regardless of race.

The incident went viral after the mechanic, known as @minyakhitamjalanan, refused payment upon learning Qiu had only RM176 left in his e-wallet, with the exchange drawing over five million views.

Qiu later thanked police officers at a roadblock in a TikTok post and reiterated he would not accept donations, saying he preferred to rely on himself to make a living.
