Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor highlighted the importance of digital connectivity for communication, innovation, and sectoral growth, aligned with the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) 2.0 roadmap for 2026–2030.
SMJ 2.0 builds on the post-COVID SMJ 1.0 plan, focusing on competitiveness, productivity, and emerging challenges like AI and cross-border trade.
Collaboration with industry players like Celcom Timur (Sabah) Sdn Bhd is central to bridging the digital divide.
The company has developed nearly 12,000 km of fibre optic network across Sabah and Labuan, supporting inter-district connectivity, industrial needs, national initiatives such as Jendela and 5G, and inclusive digital development.
