TAMBUNAN: The State Government has distributed RM57,250 in special assistance to teachers affected by a fire at the Pekan Tambunan State Religious School (SAN).

Deputy Secretary of the Chief Minister’s Department’s Internal Affairs and Research Office (PHEDN&P), Mohd Rizan Abran, handed over the aid at the Tambunan District Office on Tuesday.

He said the assistance aims to ease the burden of teachers who lost teaching equipment and personal belongings in the October 12 incident, which damaged school facilities and destroyed materials, electronics and personal items.

Recipients included headmaster Ahmad Subri Janing and several teachers who lost teaching materials, reference books, audio equipment and household items.
