KULIM: A 13-year-old boy was detained by the Road Transport Department (RTD) after he was found driving a vehicle during an enforcement operation in Kulim recently.

In a Facebook post, Kedah RTD said the teenager was stopped by officers from its Sungai Petani branch at about 12.45pm along Jalan Sungai Seluang.

The boy reportedly told officers he was driving because his father was ill and needed to be taken somewhere.

Checks later confirmed that the teenager did not possess a valid driving licence as he had not reached the legal driving age.
