Kuala Lumpur: A 12-year-old boy was slapped by a stranger while buying bread at Pasar Seni here in an incident recently that has shocked many online.
The incident occurred around 1.35pm and was captured on CCTV footage, which has since circulated on
X.
The video shows the boy being struck across the face and falling to the ground from the impact.
According to
NST, the boy had approached the counter as there was no visible queue. A man then suddenly stepped forward and slapped him, allegedly accusing the boy of cutting the line.
The boy later sought treatment at Hospital Kuala Lumpur and is currently awaiting X-ray results. A police report has also been lodged at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters.
Police are tracking down the suspect and investigating the case under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt, as well as Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998,
Malaysian Gazette reported.
It is understood that the suspect has since apologised to the boy, though investigations are ongoing.
