Kuala Lumpur: A father shared on Facebook that he received a formal warning from his child’s teacher after his son attempted to sell cans of Coca-Cola to classmates following a Chinese New Year visit.
He said he had earlier brought his son to a friend’s home on the eighth day of the Lunar New Year for prayers to the Jade Emperor, a lion dance performance and a buffet celebration.

Before leaving, the boy took three cans of Coca-Cola and told his father he planned to sell them at school to friends for RM4 each after getting them for RM2.50.
The father said he advised the boy to drink the drinks or share them with friends instead, but the child brought them to school the next day and sold two cans while keeping one for himself, collecting RM5.
A teacher later discovered the matter, refunded the money and sent a formal warning message to the father, who then reminded his son that school is for studying and that friendships are more valuable than money.
