He told the
Dayak Daily that the expansion would allow students to study Science subjects including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Additional Mathematics and Design fully in English.
Sagah described Design as a new subject and said designing is scientific because it involves Mathematics and correct measurement.
He said that although pupils already study Reka Bentuk dan Teknologi (RBT) at primary level, the subject would also be taught in English at secondary school under the DLP.
Sagah said the first batch expected to follow the programme at upper secondary level are students currently in Form One.
“The first batch will be in about three years’ time and they are now in Form One,” he said, adding that when they reach upper secondary starting with Form Four in 2029, the DLP will be assigned in English and assessments under the programme would also be used to select students for placement in Sarawak’s International Secondary Schools.
