KOTA KINABALU: The State Government has allocated RM164.01 million for human capital development programmes in Sabah under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP), Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said.
He said at the opening of the Teachers’ Training Programme for the SMJ Robotics Competition at SJKC Lok Yuk on Thursday that the human capital development remains a priority to develop youth towards progress and excellence, with skills development and youth empowerment to be strengthened through expanded scholarships and education assistance.

His speec was delivered by Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk James Ratib.
Hajiji said priority areas include the empowerment of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (Tvet), strengthening Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (Stem), agricultural training and digital technology, including artificial intelligence (AI) literacy.
He said the State Government continues to support efforts to expand access to quality education in a broader and more inclusive manner, particularly initiatives that promote Stem and innovation as a learning culture in schools.
Hajiji also said Thursday's programme would help prepare students to understand technology, build confidence and produce innovations by equipping teachers with the necessary skills and tools.
