PUTRAJAYA: A former minister and a former secretary-general of a ministry are among 12 individuals who have given statements to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over the alleged misappropriation of RM1.11 billion investment.

Prior to this, MACC confirmed receiving a report alleging misappropriation of RM1.11 billion investment involving a former senior minister.

Deputy Chief Commissioner (Operations) Datuk Seri Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya said the commission would scrutinise the report to determine whether elements of corruption, criminal breach of trust or abuse of power had been committed under the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009.

He said follow-up action would include reviewing documents and evidence submitted before further investigations proceed, in line with the commission’s commitment to integrity and transparency.
