Places of worship no issue in Sabah
The demolition of an Indian temple by vigilantes in Rawang, Selangor, on Wednesday that has attracted the Federal Cabinet’s attention.
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s great contrast with the peninsula can be seen from the fact that houses of worship are never an issue, reflecting the state’s religious harmony. 

“We are unique in Sabah. So let’s preserve this culture and our love for one another,” he said, referring to the demolition of an Indian temple by vigilantes in Rawang, Selangor, on Wednesday that has attracted the Federal Cabinet’s attention.

The issue of Hindu temples built on private and government lands in the peninsula, most of them during colonial times when race and religion were not an issue, has intensified in recent weeks.

An extremist group earlier planned to stage a protest coinciding with the visit of Indian Premier Narendra Modi last week.
