Kota Kinabalu: Understanding the past is essential to shaping Sabah’s future, said Sabah Invest Berhad Chairman Datuk Roger Chin.
“To understand where we are going, we must first understand where we have been,” he said at the launch of “Sabah’s Rocky Road to Malaysia” by Datuk Dr Johan Arrifin – who goes by the pen name “Joe Samad” – at the State Library, here.
The book, released at the library’s Tanjung Aru branch, is the third in Joe’s Sabah-Malaysia series and explores the political and economic events that shaped the State’s relationship with the federation.
“Today, we are not just launching a book … we are honouring a voice that has consistently sought to clarify the Sabah narrative,” Roger said, describing the book as a vital contribution to understanding Sabah’s complex history.
