Kota Kinabalu: University College Sabah Foundation (UCSF) aims to form a long-term strategic alliance with the Miss World Organisation to create a sustainable platform linking educational excellence with global humanitarian impact, said its Vice-Chancellor Datuk Dr Rafiq Idris.
“We hope to be a dedicated academic and community partner for future organisational initiatives in Sabah and Malaysia,” he said during the Special Visit and Sharing Session by the Miss World 2025 programme on Friday.
Rafiq highlighted UCSF’s pride in nature, arts, and heritage, while underscoring its commitment to holistic education.
He noted the programme offers students valuable learning opportunities in leadership, resilience, and community service.
He added that the initiative shows students that individuals from Sabah or Malaysia can achieve international recognition while contributing to meaningful social causes.
“Making a difference is possible regardless of one’s field of study,” he said.
Rafiq praised the “Beauty With A Purpose” initiative for redefining the crown as a platform for global dialogue, service, and humanitarian exchange, and expressed gratitude that UCSF was chosen to share this philosophy with the younger generation.
Also present were Miss World 2025 Opal Suchata Chuangsri, Miss World Organisation Chairman and CEO Julia Morley, CBE, HyperLive CEO Dr Sean Wong, BBM, and Miss World Malaysia 2025 Taanusiya Chetty.
