Kota Kinabalu: Efforts to promote pickleball in Sabah were further strengthened when the Dinkers Point Pickleball Club (DPPC) paid a courtesy call on Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam, recently.
The visit was led by DPPC President Mohd Noh Adzlie as part of efforts to formally introduce the club and share its vision and commitment to developing pickleball, particularly among Sabah’s youth.

During the meeting, Joachim expressed his appreciation for DPPC’s efforts, highlighting the club’s role in nurturing young talent through a sport that is increasingly popular in the community.
He also voiced support for DPPC’s participation in the APP Next Kuala Lumpur tournament, describing it as an important platform for players to gain exposure and experience at the national level.
Joachim advised the players to make the most of the opportunity to compete in a national-level event, noting that such experiences are rare and valuable for athlete development.
Adzlie said the courtesy call was not only an official introduction of DPPC but also reflected confidence in sports as a tool for youth development, community building, and promoting a healthy lifestyle in Sabah.
He emphasised that DPPC highly values the support and encouragement received from the State leadership and is committed to representing Sabah proudly on the national stage through pickleball.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss DPPC’s plans for training programmes, talent development, and community outreach initiatives in the State.
DPPC aims to expand participation in pickleball across schools and local communities, fostering both competitive excellence and grassroots engagement.
The club reaffirmed its dedication to developing Sabah’s pickleball scene while contributing to broader youth and sports development in the State.
