Sasa president Daniel Lee said they are ready for the challenge, having just completed a two-day intensive training session at the Kota Kinabalu Sports Complex Aquatic Centre on Tuesday.
He acknowledged the significant backing from various stakeholders, attributing the team’s formation to collective support from association members, coaches, and parents.
“The aim in sending such a large team is to allow exposure to our swimmers, especially from the younger groups. We hope this renewed effort would help groom future generations of elite swimmers for the State.
“Additionally, we have also selected three junior coaches to be part of the team, in hope they would be able to learn from the senior coaches and gain needed experience from this outing,” he said.
He also expressed his gratitude to Sabah Sports Council, Sabah Sports Board for their support and assistance in arranging the team’s centralised training.
