EGYPT: Sabah’s delegation, led by Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Dr Musa Aman, visited Cairo’s Al-Azhar International Academy to strengthen ties between Al-Azhar Sharif and Malaysian Islamic institutions. The group included Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif and Sabah Mufti Datuk Aziz Jaafar.

During the visit, they attended the inauguration of the Hall of the Grand Imam, named after Al-Azhar Grand Imam Professor Dr Ahmed El-Tayyib, recognising his role in promoting moderation and balanced Islamic thought. Tun Musa highlighted Sabah’s interest in expanding cooperation in religious education and da’wah training.
