Kota Kinabalu: Outgoing US Ambassador Edgard D. Kagan favours advocated bringing more Americans to study in Sabah and Malaysia, particularly in environmental conservation.
“Malaysia is a great place to come. If you come to Malaysia, you get a chance to experience the three largest, most dominant cultures in Asia namely Indian, Chinese and Malay.
“When I was here previously, I spoke with the VC at UMS who expressed tremendous interest. I think UMS is a great place because it has access, in addition to having its own expertise in oceanography and environmental science.
“It is a great place for American students to come to get exposure to environmental science and environmental conservation in action in a place where it’s very important,” he said.
