KOTA KINABALU: More than 20 participants are expected to take part in The Signature Food Fest 2026 as organisers stepped up engagement to strengthen Sabah’s gastronomic tourism offering.
In a statement, project director Alfred Allen Ginsos said the programme's organiser, MediaCraft Marketing, recently paid a courtesy visit to Sabah Tourism Board (STB) chief executive officer Julinus Jeffery Jimit ahead of the festival’s fifth edition.

He said the visit was led by himself together with key organising committee members and strategic partners to brief the Board on the festival’s overall mechanism, vision and execution plan.
“The festival continues to champion Sabah’s culinary talents while creating immersive food experiences for both locals and visitors,” Alfred said.
According to him, the press conference is scheduled for April 29, while the opening weekend Signature Showcase will be held from May 1 to 3, featuring interactive activities, games and lucky draws.
He said the organiser has invited Julinus to officiate the opening ceremony on May 2.
Alfred said the festival will run for 31 days from May 1 to 31, with 10,000 copies of The Signature Food Fest booklet guide to be printed and distributed, and the public invited to experience signature dishes and vote for their favourite restaurants at their own cost.
He added that appointed judges will visit participating venues during the festival, with more than 17 Signature Awards to be presented at the awards night on June 5.
