TAWAU: The Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry (KPSTI) will propose replacing the narrative in Secondary School Standard Curriculum (KSSM) textbooks that Sabah and Sarawak joined Malaysia with wording that they formed Malaysia together with the Federation of Malaya (peninsula).
Its minister, Datuk James Ratib (

He said he would raise the matter with the Education Minister, who also chairs the committee, to improve the History syllabus.
James said the narrative change in KSSM textbooks was important so that Malaysians remember the accurate historical context of the formation of Malaysia.
He added that aligning syllabus content between the peninsular and Sabah would require joint discussions involving the Education Ministry, KPSTI and the education department.
