Kota Kinabalu: Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK) issued four compounds to traders for failing to display their licences during an enforcement operation at Anjung Kinabalu on Tuesday.
The operation was carried out to ensure traders complied with stipulated regulations. Conducted by DBKK’s Licensing Department, it focused on traders operating around the D’Walai Mutiara, D’Walai Mata Biru and D’Walai Haruman areas.
A team of 10 personnel, comprising DBKK licensing inspectors and officers from the Market Management Division, inspected more than 140 hawkers during the operation.
Inspections found several hawkers in breach of licensing conditions. Four compounds were issued under Hawkers By-Laws 3(12) for failing to display licences.
In addition, Compliance Notices were issued to traders who committed other offences, including not possessing valid Assistant Cards.
Those involved were given a stipulated period to submit the required documents and comply with licensing conditions.
DBKK said follow-up inspections will be conducted on hawkers who were issued Compliance Notices in the Anjung Kinabalu area.
Enforcement operations will also be carried out periodically in other parts of the city to ensure continued compliance.
DBKK reminded all hawkers to adhere to licensing regulations and conditions to help create an orderly, safe and sustainable city environment.
