KOTA KINABALU: Junior Chamber International (JCI) Kota Kinabalu paid a courtesy visit to Deputy Chief Minister and Sabah Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun at his office on Wednesday to discuss youth development initiatives in the state.
Led by president Snowy Chang, the delegation briefed Masidi on JCI’s mission and vision, highlighting the organisation’s focus on leadership development and community service and its presence in Sabah since 1962 as part of the global Junior Chamber International network.

Both sides exchanged views on community-based initiatives aligned with youth empowerment and social well-being, including environmental responsibility through recycling programmes with local authorities, as well as bullying prevention, mental health awareness and youth-to-youth engagement.
The discussion also covered the importance of financial literacy among young adults and efforts to raise public awareness on financial scams to equip the community with practical knowledge to manage personal finances and protect against fraud.
JCI Kota Kinabalu invited Masidi to attend its Installation and Awards Banquet scheduled for Jan 23, where he is expected to be guest of honour, and expressed its intention to confer JCI Senatorship on him in recognition of his contributions to the state and support for youth development.
