Community Development Leaders must serve with integrity: Chief Minister

Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor advised Community Development Leaders (PPMs) to discharge their duties with integrity because they represent the State Government in their respective constituencies.

He said PPMs serving in the opposition constituencies, in particular, have a heavy responsibility of earning the people’s trust in the GRS-led State Government.

“Apart from following the instructions of the Government, the role of PPM in opposition areas is challenging. You are the Government’s eyes and ears.

“Do your job properly,” he said after officiating the second phase oath-taking ceremony of 35 PPMs, most of whom will be placed in opposition constituencies at Menara Kinabalu, here, Tuesday.

Kota Kinabalu: KOTA KINABALU: Fiesta Mega Raya (FMR) 2026 is set to be the largest and most prestigious Hari Raya celebration in Sabah, taking place from March 7 to 18, at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), here.
Forty-five PPMs took their oath of office at the first oath-taking ceremony on Jan 13.

“You must safeguard the image of the Government. Do not do things for personal gain. If I find those pursuing their own interests and neglecting the people, I will not hesitate to sack them. Do not abuse your power but give priority to those who are really in need of assistance,” he said.

Hajiji also reiterated that the PPMs must explain to the grassroots about the State Government’s policy, initiatives and achievements under the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ).

Also present were Cabinet Ministers and PPM Unit Director Datuk Awang Kadin Tang.
