KOTA KINABALU: A total of 48,722 voters are registered for the Kinabatangan parliamentary and Lamag state by-elections, according to the Election Commission (EC).
Of the total, 48,526 are ordinary voters, 196 are early voters from the security forces, while postal voters number 251 in Kinabatangan and 195 in Lamag.

Nomination day was held on Jan 10, early voting on Jan 20, and polling day is set for Jan 24.
The EC said 37 polling centres with 118 voting streams will be opened, involving 1,106 election workers.
Voter demographics show an almost equal split between men and women, with persons with disabilities making up about 1.5 percent of voters. The largest age group is between 31 and 45.
Three candidates are contesting the Kinabatangan seat, while two are vying for the Lamag seat. Areas with the highest number of voters include Kota Kinabatangan and Bukit Garam, while Balat and Abai record among the lowest.
As of Jan 19, the EC reported no election offences, police reports, or MACC complaints during the campaign period.
