Kota Kinabalu: A 30-year-old man, Azhory Luran, pleaded not guilty to charges of criminal breach of trust involving RM116,182.95 at the Sessions Court on Monday.
Azhory is accused of misusing the trust placed in him by Fastrack Car Rental & Holidays Sdn Bhd, where he was entrusted to manage and collect payments from customers of Oh Yes Tour Sdn Bhd.
Instead, he allegedly used the funds for his own personal use between January 10 and June 30, 2025, at the company’s premises in Penampang.
The offence, under Section 408 of the Penal Code, carries a penalty of imprisonment for between one and 14 years, along with a fine, upon conviction.
Sessions Court Judge Hurman Hussain set February 10 for case management and granted Azhory bail of RM3,000 with a local surety.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Fazriel Fardiansyah Abdul Kadir represented the prosecution, while defence counsel Mohd Al Hafidz and Luqman Syazwan Zabidi Mohd appeared for Azhory.
