Kita Orang Ranau Concert draws thousand

RANAU: The Kita Orang Ranau Concert held here recently drew a thousand turnout to watch Stacy, as well as local Sabah artists such as S Welly and Dabra Sia at the Ranau Cultural stage.

It was enlivened by rising local artists such as Amsler, Fandy James, Ain Fariesha, Run Now, Tanak Ranahon, Tuni Sundatang and others.

The concert was officiated by State Minister of Finance and Karanaan Assemblyman, Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.

There was also a lucky draw with the grand prize of a motorcycle, which added to the excitement of the visitors.

The highly anticipated concert was preceded by various events and activities, one of which was the Mobile Legends Tournament which was held with great sportsmanship, healthy competition and strong support from the local community.

This competition was officiated by the Director of the Konsert Kita Orang Ranau Program, M Sharin Mujin.

In addition, another event, the Slingshot competition, was successfully organised, thus enlivening the wait for the concert with activities that tested the focus, accuracy and skills of the participants.

Sharin, who was present to officiate the competition and present prizes to the winners, said that accuracy should not only be given to the target, but also to the spirit of togetherness.

In the excitement of the celebration, children were not forgotten. A children’s colouring competition was also held with much joy and colour where they can express their imagination, build self-confidence and cultivate an interest in art from an early age.

This competition involves three age categories, namely, 5–6 Years, 7–9 Years and 10–12 Years.

Hundreds of visitors flocked to the Ranau Free Market (RFM) Program held in conjunction with the Kita Orang Ranau Concert at the District Cultural Stage earlier on.

RFM is a way of giving away goods completely free of charge and does not involve buying and selling activities.

It promotes a ‘Minimalist’ lifestyle where people are taught to earn a living only with daily necessities and not hoard everything, including items that they and their families do not need.

The Ranau Free Market Program in conjunction with the Kita Orang Ranau Concert was successfully implemented with great enthusiasm and a spirit of togetherness.

This programme provides the public with an opportunity to donate clothes that are no longer needed, in addition to allowing those in need to get clothes for free.

Based on the slogan “Take What You Need, Pay with a Smile and a Thank You”, this initiative not only encourages the practice of sharing, but also instills the values of caring, gratitude and humanity among the community.

The organisers promote the culture of ‘goodness that never decreases when shared, but increases when done sincerely’ and hope that this noble effort will be an inspiration to continue to foster the spirit of mutual help and togetherness in the community here.

Another event held was the 2KM Fun Walk event with 200 runners from various walks of life.

Despite the cloudy weather, the enthusiasm and determination of the participants remained high, making the program take place in a cheerful and together atmosphere.

The programme began with aerobics activities as a warm-up before the participants were released to participate in a 2-kilometre run.

In an event that focuses on good health, starting with small steps , the participants were released (flag off) by the Assistant District Officer of Ranau, Florencia Padasian.
