Kota Kinabalu: Minister of Youth Development, Sports Advancement and Creative Economy (Myspace) Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan received a courtesy call from the Selangor State Government delegation on Monday.
The official visit led by Mohd Najwan Halimi, Selangor State Exco for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship was to extend their invitation to Sabah to participate in the Malaysian Games (Sukma) XXII and Para Sukma 2026, which Selangor will host later this year.

Sabah was also the delegation’s first destination in their official Sukma tour this year.
The meeting lasted an hour and touched on the logistical aspects of the organisation, including competition venues, accommodation and transportation of athletes, which according to Najwan, are the most critical elements in ensuring the smooth running of this large-scale event in addition it also involves planning that needs to be detailed comprehensively and systematically.
He also highlighted Sabah’s reputation as one of the most active participants in Sukma is set to bring vibrant energy to the games with the renowned friendly and big-hearted nature of its people.
Nizam, accompanied by his assistant Datuk Seri Anil Sandhu, expressed sincere gratitude for the visit and described the meeting as an important platform to strengthen cooperation between states, especially in the development of sports and youth at the national level.
Anil, on the other hand, underscored that while Sukma primarily aims to promote sporting excellence, it also holds immense potential to stimulate economic growth through tourism and related sectors.
Also present at the meeting were Myspace deputy permanent secretary Adanan @ Adnan Atin, Sabah Sports Council director Asneh Mohd Noor and his deputy Valerie Wong as well as Sabah Sports Board deputy chairman Firdaus Kassim.
Following the successful meeting, Najwan and his delegation continued their tour with Sarawak as their next stop.
