KOTA KINABALU: A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a Perodua Alza at the BSA Kolombong traffic lights here on Thursday morning, after an alleged red-light violation, according to city police chief ACP Kasim Muda.
He said initial investigations found that the motorcycle, travelling from the Inanam direction, is believed to have gone straight through a red light and struck the left side of the MPV, which was turning right towards BSA Kolombong after the signal turned green.

The pillion rider and MPV driver were injured and received treatment, while the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, with police opening an investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and appealing for witnesses to contact Kota Kinabalu police.
