KOTA KINABALU: Security guards collecting cash from a bank ATM at Metro Town on Sunday are believed to have accidentally left behind a sealed canvas bag containing money after completing their task and driving off.

The unattended bag was spotted by a nearby coffee shop worker who, finding it suspicious, checked with the bank and noticed it was properly tagged and sealed at about 3.30pm.

Police were alerted and later took custody of the bag at the scene, with investigations ongoing to determine how the lapse occurred.
