He said the end of an intense campaign offers Sabahans a chance to pause and reconnect after weeks of emotional political exchanges across communities.

Steve, who is also Sayang Sabah Community Club deputy president, noted that 1,148,476 voters, or a turnout of 64.35 per cent, took part in the polls through ordinary, early and postal voting, demonstrating the value people place on the democratic process.
He thanked all who cast their ballots, saying every vote carried its own story and reflected the hopes of families, workers, youth and rural communities across the state.
He said it is now crucial for all parties to shift from competition to collaboration, as Sabah’s future depends on leaders who are prepared to work beyond political lines.
Steve reminded newly elected representatives to honour the promises they made during the campaign and to remain empathetic to the daily realities faced by the people they serve.
He added that Sabah has always been strongest when its people stand together, urging both leaders and citizens to carry the spirit of calm and unity into the post-election period.
