KIULU: Caretaker Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has dismissed claims that the state should avoid cooperation with the Federal Government, calling such suggestions misguided and unhelpful for voters.
He said strong federal–state ties are essential to ensure development plans for Sabah can be carried out effectively.

Speaking during a meet-the-people event here on Monday, he stressed that political stability requires collaboration across all levels of government, noting that Sabah’s interests cannot be advanced in isolation.
Hajiji also questioned Warisan’s “Selamatkan Sabah” campaign slogan, arguing that the party failed to deliver during its two-and-a-half years in power.
He added that GRS’ proposal to limit the Chief Minister’s term to two terms would strengthen transparency and integrity in state governance.
