KOTA KINABALU: Tambunan Assemblyman Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan pressed the State Government to take stronger action in reclaiming Sabah's rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963, saying decades of delay have left Sabah as Malaysia's poorest state.
Debating the Head of State Policy Speech on Tuesday, he proposed a tracking system to monitor Federal revenue, called for a non-partisan MA63 committee, urged Sabah to formally reject the Territorial Waters Act 2012 and pushed for the term "negeri" to be dropped in recognising Sabah as a founding partner of Malaysia.
He also raised traffic congestion in Pekan Keningau, the Sook district office upgrade, preparations for the forecasted Super Mega El Nino and a proposed Sabah ministry dedicated to overseeing immigration matters in Sabah.
