Felcra’s P&Ps reach RM297 million total value
KINABATANGAN: The Federal Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (Felcra) Berhad has recorded an impressive overall performance for its Consolidation and Rehabilitation (P&P) Projects nationwide, with a total value of RM297 million as of August 2025.

Of this amount, RM207 million represents the Interim Profit Distribution 2 for 2025, to be channelled to Felcra participants across Malaysia.

Felcra Chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub said the distribution will benefit 76,694 participants nationwide from 775 profitable projects, with payments to be made in stages beginning November 1.

He said this when representing Deputy Prime Minister cum Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi at the Declaration of Interim Profit Distribution 2/2025 for Felcra Projects ceremony held at Dataran Kinabatangan here Saturday.

Kota Kinabalu: KOTA KINABALU: Fiesta Mega Raya (FMR) 2026 is set to be the largest and most prestigious Hari Raya celebration in Sabah, taking place from March 7 to 18, at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), here.
Also present were Kinabatangan MP and former Felcra Chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Noraini Ahmad, Incumbent Sukau Assemblyman Datuk Jafry Arifin, Felcra Chief Executive Officer Datuk Idris Lasim, as well as local leaders and Felcra participants from Kinabatangan, Beluran and Sandakan.

During the ceremony, cheques for the Interim Profit Distribution 2/2025 were also presented to Felcra participants in both Sabah and Peninsular Malaysia, along with contributions to educational institutions, STPM students and local mosques in the Kinabatangan area.

In a speech text read by Ahmad Jazlan, Zahid praised Felcra as a high-performing rural development agency under the leadership of Idris Lasim.

He said the increase in profits was driven by an 81 per cent rise in net profit from palm oil projects and a higher average crude palm oil price of RM4,423.83 per metric tonne, alongside 15 per cent lower operating costs and a 49 per cent improvement in yield per hectare.

Zahid also commended the Felcra Seberang Perak Paddy Estate, which has successfully transformed previously non-agronomic land since 1971 into a modern, high-value rice granary, and lauded Felcra’s role in pioneering the production of certified paddy seeds with an annual operational capacity of 6,000 metric tonnes.

He noted that these successes were further strengthened by the introduction of local fragrant rice varieties – developed since 1990 and now among consumers’ favourites – reflecting Felcra’s commitment to bolstering the rural economy, backed by RM600.83 million in allocations from KKDW under the 12th Malaysia Plan (RMK12).

On development efforts in Sabah, Zahid stressed that they are not mere slogans or rhetoric. Under RMK12 (2021–2025), the Government has allocated RM24.16 billion to KKDW for Sabah’s development through various Federal and State-linked agencies, including the Sabah Land Development Board (SLDB) and the Sabah Rubber Industry Board (LIGS).

He said this means that KKDW has received over RM1 billion annually from the Federal Government under RMK12. For 2025 alone, under the Fifth Rolling Plan (RP5), RM1.45 billion (19.4%) of KKDW’s RM7.49 billion development allocation was designated for Sabah, covering 327 projects.

In Kinabatangan, KKDW channelled RM75.63 million in 2025, including RM33.26 million for 10 rural road projects (JALB), RM1.62 million for one rural bridge project (JMLB), RM11.49 million for five rural water supply projects (BALB), RM3 million for one main project and six subprojects under rural connectivity (JPD), RM150,000 for one social amenities programme (PAMS) and RM8.79 million for two land and territory projects (TW).

Additionally, RM13.25 million was allocated for two people’s wellbeing projects (KR) involving 62 new homes under the People’s Housing Programme (PPRS), 249 home repairs and 24 participants under the Skills and Career Training Programme (PLKK), along with RM4.07 million for two Felcra projects in Kinabatangan.

Earlier, Bung Moktar said Felcra’s efforts have greatly benefited participants and rural communities through productive land development projects in Kinabatangan and across Sabah.

Meanwhile, Idris noted that since its establishment in 1995, Felcra Sabah has managed 15,704 hectares of agricultural land, involving 2,252 participants, demonstrating its sustained contribution to the state’s rural development.
