KOTA BELUD: Caretaker Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said on Tuesday he is optimistic that negotiations on Sabah’s 40 per cent net revenue entitlement can be concluded within three months as directed by the High Court.
He said initial discussions between state and federal officials began yesterday at Menara Kinabalu, led by the State Secretary for Sabah and the Treasury Secretary-General for Putrajaya.

Hajiji said the talks focused on technical matters, including the mechanism for calculating and delivering Sabah’s share, and acknowledged that several rounds of discussions may be needed before both sides reach agreement.
He said Sabah has yet to receive clarity on the total revenue collected from the state and will wait for the federal government to outline the breakdown of the 40 per cent entitlement and federal responsibilities.
Hajiji said he had earlier asked the Prime Minister not to appeal the High Court ruling and added that he remains firm in voicing Sabah’s concerns at MA63 meetings despite keeping a low public profile on the matter.
