Kota Kinabalu: On Sabah’s 40 per cent revenue entitlement, Armizan remains optimistic the issue will be resolved, citing the Federal Government’s recent decision not to appeal matters relating to its implementation.
He said past Federal administrations had, in parliamentary replies, effectively stated that the 40 per cent entitlement had been halted, despite public claims of recognition and that was why no review was ever conducted.

“Under the current Madani Government, the Cabinet and the Prime Minister have made it clear that there will be no appeal.
“The 40 per cent right under Articles 112C and 112D of the Federal Constitution will be the basis for determining Sabah’s annual special grant each year,” he said.
Furthermore, Armizan said the Federal Government has also agreed to form a dedicated platform solely to negotiate the 40 per cent entitlement, with the first officials-level meeting held on Monday.
“The dedicated platform will be used not only to resolve the current issue, but also for the five-year reviews required under Article 112D,” he said.
Armizan said Sabah had already seen significant increases in allocations under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim — from RM26 million previously to RM125 million, then RM300 million, and now RM600 million in interim funding.
