KUALA LUMPUR: A small group of Malay women has quietly touched hearts after driving from Kuala Kangsar to Bukit Mertajam to ensure two stray puppies they rescued would find safety at an animal shelter.
Their simple act of care was highlighted in a Facebook post by SPCA Seberang Perai, where thousands responded warmly to the women’s effort to help the defenceless animals.

The shelter manager said the women arrived on 13 November with the puppies, explaining that they could not bear to leave the animals wandering alone and hoped the shelter could give them a chance at a better life,
China Press reported.
The manager said both puppies were healthy and shared that the women later used the shelter’s pet taxi service to send another rescued dog, while also helping with a donation despite wishing to keep their kindness low-key.
He added that one more injured puppy rescued by the same women is still receiving treatment at a veterinary clinic and will be placed at the shelter, which currently cares for about 1,400 dogs and 450 cats and depends heavily on public support.
