SANDAKAN: Seat allocation negotiations between Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) for the 17th state election are in the final stage, with nearly 70 per cent concluded, said Sabah BN Chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin.
He said several seats still need to be finalised between the two parties to reach a mutual agreement before an official announcement is made.
“There are still a few seats that need to be finalised between BN and PH. God willing, I will meet with the leaders on Nov 3 or 4 to resolve the matter,” he told reporters after attending the Sentuhan Kasih Desa@Libaran programme, here, Saturday.
Commenting on the delay in finalising the seat distribution, Bung said it was due to both parties wanting to contest in certain areas.
He also confirmed that BN would be reducing the number of seats it contests.
Previously, he said Sabah BN intended to contest 48 seats in the coming state election.
Nomination for the state election is on Nov 15 and polling on Nov 29.
