Putatan’s athletes get cash incentives

Kota Kinabalu: The Putatan contingent, who finished seventh overall in the just concluded 11th Sabah Games in Tawau, received their cash incentives on Friday.

They won a total of 12 golds, eight silvers and 12 bronzes to finish behind Kota Kinabalu, Papar, Sandakan, Keningau, Tawau and Tuaran.

The gold medals were delivered by Nursyafiqah Alya Tarul Syharin (pencak silat); men’s golf team (Khayar Akhtar Ummar Ariff, Ezekiel Riz Hafi Suzearitz, Dylan Zayden Darius, Mohd Rafiq Anugerah Ali); Muhd Ruzaimi Ramlan Mohd Haiqal, Nurul Aina Ali Asmat Allyssa Ladyana Ahmad Suhaimi, Ainol Shahramadhan Abu Bakar (pétanque), men’s pétanque team (Ainol Shahramadhan Muhd Ruzaimi Ramlan, Ryorie Ethan Augustine, Adel Shahfahmi Abu Bakar, Muhd Azeem Faiz Mohd Faizal Noor); women’s futsal team (Nur Balqis Suriadi, Eni Suriani Mohd Kassim,Nur Qalesya Jull, Low Jam Lim, Jane Rynna Jamain, Siti Nur Raini Ahmad, Nornabilah Mohd Asmadi @ Mohd Matali, Merryllin Severinus, Puteri Khairun Nazwa Nurbalqis Abd Razak, Shernyttta, Nur Riyadul Hasanah, Norfazilah Laidy, Jurilitiy Pukat, Ellycia Valerina Antonis, Nur Jackylah Tunya, Jecquelyenn Jupilis); Krishen Gil (tennis); Rico Andrew, Euphrasia Terrence, Syed Ali Syed Ahmad (athletics) and Thiery Christian Thomas (karate).

The individual gold medallists each received RM1,000 and RM500 for the silver and RM300 for the bronze, while team gold winners received RM2,000 and RM3,000 for the women’s futsal team.

Putatan’s Member of Parliament Datuk Shahelmey Yahya, who presented the incentives to all the recipients, was impressed with the achievement of the contingent in the biennial event.

“I am very delighted with our contingent’s total haul of 12 gold medals this year compared to only four in the previous meet held in 2023.

“I hope the incentives presented for their outstanding performance will motivate them to continue to improve themselves in time to come,” he said.
