THE 2025-26 football season will kick off with the Charity Shield on August 8.
It is a match between 11-time Super League champions JDT FC and another giant in Malaysian football, Selangor FC.
It is also the first league game of the new season and a lot will be at stake for both teams. JDT FC will no doubt be the hot favourites to win the tie with their menacing line-up of heritage and naturalised players in addition to their foreign imports and local Internationals.
Although I believe Selangor also known as the Red Giants have prepared well and set their sights for a good season, it will still be a very tough task for them to get a win in the season opener.
